Earlier this year, we received notice that the manufacturer of the Sashiko thimbles we have been offering will be closing their business. Since then, we have been searching for another maker who can produce the same thimble; however, we have not yet found one that is identical.
At the same time, we have been exploring alternatives and testing them in our own practice to see whether they can serve as a suitable replacement. While we currently still have a reasonable amount of stock, once the inventory is gone, there may be a period during which we are unable to offer thimbles to our regular customers.
As our business flow is relatively steady, it is difficult to predict exactly when the stock will run out. If you are hoping to secure the current thimble, we kindly encourage you to consider placing your order at your convenience.
For workshops scheduled in 2026, I have already secured the necessary thimbles. For 2027 and beyond, I hope we will either be able to adopt a suitable alternative or find a manufacturer who can produce the thimble we have been using.
