The original purpose of Sashiko was to make fabric “stronger” before the need for “mending.” We try to follow this original purpose by stitching directly onto Denim with the appropriate Sashiko Threads.
This one-of-a-kind Sashiko Denim features extensive hand-stitching throughout both the front and back. A large area is filled with Komezashi, using multiple colors of Sashiko Thread to create layers of geometric patterns. The other areas feature traditional geometric Sashiko patterns, creating a contrast between dense Komezashi and flowing geometric stitching.
Every stitch is done by hand. The differences in rhythm, density, and color are part of the process of continuously stitching the Denim—not simply decorating its surface, but adding thread and strength to the fabric.

Treatment Information
Please hand-wash the Denim until you confirm that the threads are securely settled into the fabric. All of the stitches are secured by overlay stitches rather than knots. With repeated washing and use, the threads and fabric will settle together.
After you confirm that the threads do not fray or come loose—for example, after about 10 washes—you may machine-wash the Denim on a gentle setting.
If naturally dyed Sashiko Threads are used, please use a neutral detergent. Please never use bleach or detergent containing bleach or similar bleaching agents.
Atsushi’s Dream
Atsushi has a dream of one day having an exhibition together with his fellow Sashiko friends.
Sashiko Denim—Denim Pants stitched extensively through continuous practice—is one of the forms in which this dream takes shape. Rather than aiming only for a finished design, the Denim records the time, stitches, colors, and experiences accumulated through Sashiko.
Each pair becomes one of a kind because the same process can never be repeated in exactly the same way.
