[Story for this Sashiko Fukubukuro]
This year, one of the creations I personally enjoyed the most was the "Furoshiki made with indigo-dyed fabric." I had the pleasure of making several pieces myself, and through the connections I’ve made at the Unshin-kai gatherings, I was delighted to encounter so many beautiful sashiko-stitched furoshiki.
At one of the exhibitions, Keiko received a suggestion: “Wouldn’t it be nice to have smaller furoshiki? Something that could be enjoyed more casually?” Having already done some preparatory work toward this idea, I decided at the end of November to incorporate it into this year’s lucky bags as the "Shaku-San Width Furoshiki Set."
Additionally, the purple color derived from logwood, which was very popular this year, will be included. Achieving consistency and stability in the depth of this purple color, ensuring both continuity and reproducibility, was quite challenging. However, thinking ahead to the Fukubukuro, I was able to dye a larger amount than usual. The thread in this set will also feature this purple hue. The colors may vary, with some being darker, lighter, or slightly uneven, but I hope you’ll appreciate each piece as a unique, one-of-a-kind creation.
